Grilled seasoned fresh ground beef and California Avocados make for a juicy burger with a taste of the West.

1 lb. ground beef (90% lean or higher) 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped 2 tsp. finely chopped fresh cilantro 1/8 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper 4 hamburger buns, split 4 romaine lettuce leaves 1 tomato, sliced 1 ripe, Fresh California Avocado, seeded, peeled and sliced 1 yellow or white onion, sliced
  1. Combine ground beef, jalapeño pepper, chopped onion, cilantro, salt and black pepper in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Lightly shape into 1/2-inch thick patties.
  2. Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes or over medium heat on preheated gas grill, 7 to 9 minutes) until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160 degrees F, turning occasionally.
  3. Line bottom of each bun with lettuce leaf, top with burger, avocado, sliced onion and the top bun. Serve.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with Guacamole Potato Salad

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.

Did You Know?
