Margherita California Avocado Toast

I’m sure you’ve had margherita pizza, or seen a caprese appetizer plate at a party or restaurant – how about trying a Margherita Avocado Toast?!

1 slice whole wheat bread 2 slices fresh buffalo mozzarella 1/2 ripe Fresh California Avocado, seeded, peeled and thinly sliced 2 cherry tomatoes, sliced 1 basil leaf, chopped Balsamic reduction, to taste
  1. Toast the bread with the mozzarella slices on top, until the mozzarella is slightly melted and the bread toasted.
  2. Place the California Avocado slices on top of the melted cheese.
  3. Top with sliced tomatoes and fresh basil.
  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze, if desired.

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
