Avocado PLU’s

PLU numbers are used to properly identify avocados sold at retail. These numbers allow for an accurate front end ring for pricing of avocados. PLU numbers for organically grown avocados are the same except for the addition of the number 9 preceding the regular four-digit code. For example, the PLU number for an organic size-48 Hass avocado is 94225.

The following PLU numbers for Hass, Organic and Greenskins became effective on January 1, 1998. The GEM PLU number became effective in October 31, 2018.
