Avocado PLUs
California Avocado labeling prominently calls out point of origin to encourage retail sales. Some avocado packers feature the California origin on the PLU label with the PLU number (used to properly identify the size of avocados sold at retail).

California Avocado Commission retail marketing directors and marketing staff work with retailers who merchandise California Avocados, providing information and developing customized marketing programs.
AMRIC Avocado Handlers
The Avocado Marketing and Research Information Center (AMRIC) system and reporting procedures enable the industry to analyze current market situations and forecast trends. AMRIC handlers are defined as handlers who shipped a minimum of 1 percent (1%) of the previous year’s total California crop volume.
