Beer-Battered Fried California Avocado Wedges

Ingredients

Serves: 12
cups  lager beer or ale
cups  flour
Tbsp.  Paprika
  Garlic, large cloves chopped finely
lb.  California Avocados
  As needed  Vegetable oil - as needed for deep frying
  As needed  Salt
cups  Salsa

As with all fruits and vegetables, wash avocados before cutting. Check out our tips for how to choose and use California Avocados

Instructions

  1. METHOD
  2. To make beer batter, whisk together beer, flour, paprika and garlic until well blended; let stand at least 2 hours.
  3. PER ORDER
  4. Peel and cut half an avocado into 6 wedges. Dredge each wedge in reserved beer batter. Deep fry in 375°F oil until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain well; season with salt. Serve with 1/4 cup salsa.
