Chef Shankari Arcot

A past winner of the California State Fair Iron Chef competition, Shankari Arcot has been teaching home-style cooking and techniques from her childhood to food enthusiasts around the Sacramento, California area, and beyond through her virtual classrooms.

Her love for cooking and teaching started when she moved away from her extended family in India and missed her Amma’s cooking. She collected her family recipes from her sister and mother and reverse-engineered restaurant meals in attempts to re-create the experience at home.

Arcot’s adventure in cooking is all about wanting her students to discover that food offers a way to safely travel through the heart of different countries.
