From potlucks and parades to picnics and parties, Fourth of July prep is popping up in the minds of hosts across the country.
We put together some recipes (using the only American-grown avocados!) perfect for quick prep and packing so you can trade your time spent over a fired-up grill for more time spent with friends and family watching fireworks and celebrating our freedom.
4th of July California Avocado Recipes
Honor the red, white and blue (and green!) with this California Avocado Salad you can make in less than five minutes. Toss together mixed greens, feta cheese, grape tomatoes, blueberries, Kalamata olives, balsamic dressing and, of course, California Avocado for a salad that will light up your guests’ eyes like sparklers.
This guacamole embodies summer with the fresh flavors of sweet onion, roasted corn, garlic and cherry tomatoes. Knock off some of the prep time by grilling your garlic and corn in advance.
And if you can’t snag the leftovers, maybe they’d be willing to share some of their best recipes like our friends on Instagram @thenaturalnurturer and @pattkla have. They created this beautiful smoked-salmon salad and vegan dessert, respectively.
Still can’t decide what to bring to the potluck, picnic or party you’re attending? Make your dish the grand finale of the feast by making these California Avocado Beef and Bean Burger. We can’t help but break out in song when we eat them. “O’er the land of the free, and the home of the burger.”
We’re proud that our avocados grow right here in California, we’re proud to be Americans and last but not least, we’re proud of our ability to share the things we love with you (like these delicious summer recipes). If you make a Fourth of July dish you’re proud of, share it with us in the comments!
Happy Fourth of July.
