What goes together better than margaritas and guacamole? Nothing, that’s what! This guacamole gets a zing from lots of lime and orange juice and a real kick from a big splash of tequila. You can feel good about snacking on this guac since it’s full of vitamin C (35% DV) and good fats from California avocados, while providing 45% DV, Vitamin K and 40% DV Dietary Fiber.

Ingredients4 ripe, medium Fresh California Avocados, seeded and peeled 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice 1 Tbsp. fresh orange juice 3 Tbsp. good quality tequila 2 cloves garlic, minced 3 Tbsp. minced red onion 2 tsp. minced serrano pepper (optional) 2 Tbsp. finely chopped cilantro (optional) 1 tsp. coarse sea salt 1 tsp. black pepper
- In a bowl, mash avocados with lime juice, orange juice, and tequila leaving chunks of avocado if you like guacamole with texture.
- Add the garlic, onion, serrano, cilantro, salt and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with tortilla chips or a healthier option, jicama sticks.
Beverage Pairing: Margaritas on the rocks or light beer with a lime.
*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
