This California Avocado Banana Chocolate Chip Bread is one for the books! It has it all with a gooey center and a crisp topping that is studded with extra chocolate chips. The addition of heart-healthy fresh California Avocados creates an extra moist center that makes the banana bread even more scrumptious. Substitution of avocado for a higher calorie ingredient like butter may reduce the intake of calories, saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol while getting the healthy benefits of the fruits nutritional value.

3/4 ripe, Fresh California Avocados, seeded, peeled and mashed 1 large egg 3 very ripe bananas, mashed 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup coconut sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp. cardamom 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. fine salt 1 cup chocolate chips, divided
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl, reserving 1/4 of the chocolate chips. Mix well.
  3. Pour the batter into a banana bread loaf pan and top with the remaining chocolate chips.
  4. Place in the oven to cook for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until the center is cooked through. Let it cool, then slice and enjoy!

Beverage Pairing: Enjoy with coffee or hot chocolate for a decadent tasting treat.
