Ingredients
6 jalapeños 4 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature 1 ripe, Fresh California Avocado, seeded, peeled and cut into small cubes 1 tsp. garlic powder 1/8 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. cracked black pepper 3 green onions, finely chopped 1 cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon piecesInstructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 F.
- Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise. deseed each side and discard seeds.
- In a large bowl mix together the cream cheese, avocado, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, green onions, sharp cheddar cheese and bacon pieces until smooth.
- Fill each jalapeño half with an even layer of the cream cheese mixture and place onto a large baking sheet. Bake jalapeño halves for 18-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melty.
Notes: To increase the spice level, leave jalapeño ribs and seeds intact.
Serving Suggestion: These poppers can be prepared ahead of time and left covered in the refrigerator until ready to bake.

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
