Everyone knows that California Avocados can be turned into many amazing savory dishes. But did you know that California Avocados make some pretty amazing sweet dishes, too? One of my favorite things to do is use California Avocados in dessert recipes! Why? Because they easily replace eggs, butter or oil in baking recipes and have fewer calories with more health benefits.
I’ve made Chocolate Avocado Muffins, Avocado Parfaits, Chocolate Avocado Ice Cream and my latest creation is this California Avocado Sorbet!
What is a sorbet? By definition, a sorbet is dessert consisting of frozen fruit juice or flavored water and sugar. It’s not as creamy as an ice cream, but has more of a texture to it because it doesn’t contain any milk.
To make this California Avocado Sorbet, you only need four simple ingredients. First thing is make a simple syrup, which is very easy. All you need to do is boil water and sugar (I used a sugar substitute) and then let cool. Once this is cool, blend avocados, lime zest and lime juice along with the simple syrup in a blender or food processor until smooth.
Pour in your ice cream maker and churn until the desired consistency. This sorbet is super easy to make and the outcome is a delicious sorbet dessert. You will be pleasantly surprised at the creamy, delicious flavor of this sorbet! Enjoy!
