 Chicken, California Avocado & Crispy Onion Wrap

Perfectly portable. Grilled chicken tossed in tangy BBQ sauce topped with salad mix, Fresh California Avocados, cheese and crispy onions makes a flavorful filling (with a crispy crunch) for this wrap sandwich. Get ready to satisfy your taste buds and your body. This delicious wrap provides an excellent source of key nutrients including protein (52% DV) calcium, iron, vitamin B6 and dietary fiber.

 

Ingredients

Serves: 4
oz.  fully cooked, grilled chicken strips, cubed
1/2  cup  barbecue sauce
cup  chopped salad mix (green cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrots, green onion and cilantro or preferred mix)
  ripe, Fresh California Avocado**, peeled, seeded and mashed
1/2  cup  reduced-fat Cheddar cheese
1/2  cup  French fried onions
  whole wheat tortilla wraps

Instructions

  1. Place cubed chicken in mixing bowl. Pour barbecue sauce on chicken, stir until covered.
  2. Spread chicken, salad mix, avocado, cheese, and onions evenly on tortilla wraps.
  3. Fold the wrap and enjoy!

Serving Suggestion: Can also be served as a tasty salad – omit the wraps, dice the avocado, toss with the remaining ingredients and sprinkle with a little cider vinegar.

Beverage Pairing: Amber-brown lager.

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
