This is the recipe for when you want a speedy avocado toast as a snack but with a flavorful twist. Fresh California avocados, tomatoes and a dash of balsamic are a winning trifecta of simple flavors. Up the aroma with a rub of fresh garlic and it is as if you’ve been transformed to the Mediterranean coast with this simple, yet outstanding avocado toast.

Start cooking

Serves: 1

|
1 raw garlic clove, cut in half 1 slice of sourdough bread, toasted 2 thin slices of tomatoes 1/2 ripe, Fresh California Avocado, seeded, peeled and cubed 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar 1/8 tsp. salt 3 fresh basil leaves, optional
  1. Take the cut side of the garlic and rub one side of the sourdough bread with it.
  2. On the same side of the toast, layer on the tomato slices, cubed avocado, drizzle of balsamic, salt and basil leaves for garnish.

Serving Suggestion: This snack pairs wonderfully with a side of hummus and veggies. I recommend a garlic hummus and a side of crunchy vegetables like cucumbers, carrots or sugar snap peas.

Beverage Pairing: Fresh glass of iced tea

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
