 Traditional Guacamole

A traditional guacamole filled with wholesome ingredients and heart-healthy avocado is simply delicious and comes together in just a couple of minutes. Give me a scoop, I’m going in!

Ingredients

Serves: 8
ripe, Fresh California Avocados, seeded and peeled
  lime, juiced
Tbsp.  onion, finely minced
serrano chili, thinly sliced (or seeded and diced for less heat)
  clove garlic, finely minced
Tbsp.  cilantro, finely chopped (optional)
1/8  tsp.  sea salt
1/8  tsp.  pepper
  tomato, medium, ¼ inch dice

As with all fruits and vegetables, wash avocados before cutting. Check out our tips for how to choose and use California Avocados

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash avocado with lime, onion, chile, garlic, and cilantro (if using) until the guacamole is mostly smooth only small chunks of avocado remain. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Stir in tomatoes, gently, so as not to mash them and serve immediately

Serving Suggestion: Warm fresh corn tortillas are a delicious alternative to chips.

Beverage Pairing: Limeade or Margaritas!

*To store guacamole, place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guacamole and refrigerate.

**Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
